Greetings!

I am delighted to welcome you to the Historic Alexandria Foundation website.  We are truly excited about having this wonderful medium with which to share news, upcoming events and preservation issues with the public.

Alexandria is blessed with a long and distinguished history . . . one that is inexorably tied to many of the great people and events that helped to forge the character of this nation.  George Washington, Patrick Henry, Marquis de Lafayette, General Robert E. Lee and Clara Barton are just a few of the towering figures who once walked the tree lined streets of our city.

An essential part of the city's legacy is the architectural record that remains in the form of houses and commercial buildings.  From utilitarian to splendidly elegant, these structures represent the physical link between us and all those who have gone before.  Our foundation exists to encourage preservation of this irreplaceable national treasure and to educate the public as to the importance of its stewardship for generations yet to come.

Please visit the Antiques Show page for information about our premier fund raising event.  No matter if you are collecting or browsing, the revenues from the Historic Alexandria Antiques Show help to fund many of our important community activities.

Thank you for visiting us . . . and, I'll look forward to seeing you at this year's Antiques Show!

Sincerely,

Morgan Delaney
